Meet Our Cleveland Dog Trainer

About me, Dru Therrian
and Out of the DogHouse Dog Training

Everyday when I wake up I get to do what I love!

I love to train dogs and people too! And I really enjoy teaching; I want to help you have the best relationship with your dog.

Gathering my personal experiences with the tools and methods I have learned how to help dog owners, you, resolve dog and puppy behavior problems.

Where I come from and what I did before:

Prior to making my home in Ohio, I lived throughout the Great Lakes Region including Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and New York.

I realize now that I began building my career many years ago. After my freshman year at Eastern Michigan University, I got married. My husband, Matt, was working in Wisconsin so I transferred to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. There I was a national collegiate diving champion.

Another job change for Matt had me enrolling and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana. While at St. Mary’s, I was part of the equestrienne team and spent most of my free time at school caring for horses.

Life continued as I became a Mother of 3 children. Now they are grown and I am a Grandma as well.

Where the training happens:

I use my indoor training area, home and the local community as training aides.  You will regularly see me and dogs along the neighborhood streets in Chardon, at local dog friendly stores and in the woods of local parks. Socialization and obedience are incorporated into daily life. The dogs and I meet and greet people, encounter wildlife, other dogs and cats, all the while learning how to be mannerly in public as well as at home.

I love what I do:

I am energetic and enthusiastic; I love working with people and their pet dogs. I have an understanding of animal behavior and offer training that works; Even for your dog!

Here are some dogs that Got Out of the DogHouse:
